“Muhannad Kassawat received his Medical Degree from the Superior Institute of Medical Sciences in Havana Cuba in 1992. He then went on to earn his Master's Degree in Biology from Youngstown State University in 2001, and his PHd in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Kent State University in 2006. He completed his psychiatric residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. in 2010. Since that time he has functioned as a Psychiatrist at the West Virginia State Hospital in Weston, WV, and as a Psychiatrist & Medical Director at the United States Air Force Base in Eglin, FL. January 2009 he has functioned in the role of staff psychiatrist for children and adolescents at Belmont Pines Hospital in Youngstown, OH. Dr. Kassawat joined Comprehensive Psychiatry Group in June of 2013. He began Serenity Center of Youngstown LLC in 2015. It is here he treats adolescents and adults with a wide variety of presenting mental health and substance abuse problems. Dr. Kassawat is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. He is also Board Certified in Addiction Medicine. He currently serves as the Chief of Psychiatry at Mercy Health providing inpatient treatment to adults and geriatric patients. His primary service goal is to provide the highest quality of outpatient treatment by utilizing a continuum of care treatment approach.”
